I found Bio oil to be brilliant. I used it when I was pregnant and although I do have some stretch marks on my chest area, I have none on my stomach. It is expensive but in found it to be worth it. Although they will fade on their own given time, my remaining ones are now silver and aren't that noticeable anymore

Time and self-confidence.

Astral moisturiser helped mine, they were very red and angry and they're hardly noticeable now.

Start moisturising your body as soon as you discover you are pregnant x 2 a day. I used ponds intensive and baby oil on body straight out of the shower before drying. Do not eat for two and exercise plenty.

I spoke to doctors about this because I get really bad ones right in the last few weeks (nothing before) and was told it’s just skin type. I’m in process of being looked at for hypermobility ehlers danlos though, which likely contributes too. I’ve used bio oil and different creams, nothing made a difference. Some people are just lucky and others not so lucky in that department.

Also keep well hydrated.

There used to be a thing doing the rounds on social media (babycentre and the like) about 20 years ago , which was an American step by step programme for stretchmarks. It was complicated and time consuming but the main steps were massaging with one of those nubbly massage tools, with pure aloe Vera gel, and using a 5% urea body lotion, and pure cocoa butter. Anyway it worked really well for me at the time.

Ds started getting stretch marks when he was weight training, and used palmers cocoa butter stretch mark cream, that worked.

I've not tried it but dermarolling is meant to be good for it. Worth investigating??

Xiomara22 · 02/04/2023 22:07

I used coconut oil liberally all
over my tummy and thighs during pregnancy and I only got one small stretch mark. Only had the one baba so can’t say if it was just luck or not.

Thanks for replies, Ive had 3 children always been size 8/10. Slim throughout pregnancy, ate well moisturised etc but I still ended up developing them anyway. They are quite faint, under belly button area. I might try Derma-roller, see if that helps. I've tried nearly all the creams, but nothing seems to get rid of that silvery shimmer, in the light.
