Hi so me and DH are buying our first home together and after living with my in laws for the last few years, it couldn't be coming at a better time 🤣
We exchanged contracts yesterday with a date of next Friday, the 31st to complete.
Our mortgage is with Nationwide. On our original paperwork, it said that if we completed on the 1st of a month, we would incur interest from the 1st of the month until the last day of the month that would need paying on top of our first payment amount.
As we are completing on the 31st, am I right in thinking that there should only be one or two days interest added on (funds may be released the 30th they have told us) and will our first payment be due first working day in April?
I am going to be a bit miffed if we still have to pay a whole months worth of extra interest even though we are exchanging at the end of the month.
