I am 19w pregnant and currently working full-time earning £21,000 (before tax) and my employer offers Statutory Maternity Pay and I am due to start maternity mid August.
I have seen a 17.5 hour nights position advertised that I was interested in applying for so that I could save some extra money before baby arrives and also was thinking that I could work this job after a couple months of Mat leave. without returning to my normal full time job, due to it just being a small number of hours and also a nights position so partner will be home with the baby.
I just want to know where I stand in terms of receiving SMP from my first full-time employer if I was working part time during maternity leave? Would I still be entitled to receive the SMP or would the payments stop?
Any thoughts or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
