Ebay dilemma - feeling frustrated

I bought a PS1 from ebay and it didnt work so I contacted the seller to tell him this and ask for a refund. After no response for a week I acquired his phone number from ebay and spoke to thim - he was pleasant on the phone said he had been away working and would 'sort it out'.

I went to my emails later that day to find he had filed a case with the dispute reoslution service on ebay - which I couldnt believe saying he would check the PS1 if I sent it back but that he wasnt willing to pay the postage for me to return it as he believed it was working.

Anyway I dutifully responded to the case and have since sent 2 more emails to him and have said if I dont hear anything from him by the end of the week I will have to leave honest negative feedback.

I still havent heard anything and dont know what else to do - do I phone him again or just close the case myself and leave negative feedback?

I have 100% positive feedback and this is his first item to be sold - so I shouldn't have entered into it really!

Any ideas as I am feeling really cheesed off - to me its simple - it doesn't work and I want my money back - I have never had this hassle before.

Well it may be that it was working and was damaged in transit, and that he is as cheesed off as you are.

But it may also be that he is trying to rip you off (who can tell?). Have you sent it back yet?

taramac, that's awful. I suppose you could complain to ebay and see where that gets you. Other than that I have no idea.

If it's any help I have an old PS1 that needs a good home. I've been meaning to advertise it on here for ages actually but just never got round to it. Will be needing to clear the spare room soon for the newest arrival to the Bapuss household anyway Smile. I will have to double check with dh but I'm sure you could just have it for P&P and I'm pretty sure this one works too Wink but again will have to check (I know nothing about these things!).

Let me know by CAT or otherwise and I hope you get things sorted with your difficult seller too.

No - he won't refund me any money so I don't want to risk sending it as then he will have my money and the PS - also if I pay for postage to return it then I have paid nearly £25 in total for postage and the thing ony cost me £18 to begin with!

I just don;t understand why he has gone to a resolution site and is then not responding to any reply I have sent. He asked me not to leave feedback whilst we try and resolve it but then he isn't replying. Really don't want to phone again as its his dads number and I also don't want to harass him but I feel thats the only way I am going to hear from him.

I have never left negative feedback before and I hate to do it. If he refunded me he could always sell the unit or games again if he feels it is working so I dont understand why he is being so adamnant.

taramac,

Did you pay with credit card or paypal....they have a protection service for items over £15. not sure how it works though.
