Hello, I have been quoted an acceptable price (subject to view) from a garage who will buy my car that I have been trying to sell for months.

Basically, I have the V5 etc but I have lost the service book and manual - first of all - is this going to drop the value they offer?

Also, the battery went completly dead where I haven't been driving it, and now the sterio is asking for a code, which I assume is in the information I have lost. Is there anything I can do???

I only have a couple of hours till I need to leave, and the garage is about an hours drive away.

Can anybody help?

Manual - very cheap to replace, Service book - can effect value as it's now hard to prove service history, but you might be able to get some proof from the garage you serviced it at? Radio code - free from dealer or about £10 online.

The only way to get the code for the radio if you've lost it is to contact the main dealer and ask for a programming code - they charge you between £15-25 for this information

I would just tell the garage what's happened and turn my house upside down looking for the paperwork until then.

Loss of service history if they made the offer on the basis that it had a history will affect the price but if the car was serviced at a dealership they will likely hold the info on a central computer so you could possibly get copies.

Try ringing them - they may be able to help you, although as it's Sunday the service dept is likely to be closed.

It has only had one service anyway, as its only 2years old. I have proof of the first service but just not the book.
