Advice about council housing

Hello everyone hopefully I will get some help this is my first time here
so me and my husband and my 10 month son just changed the band in the housing from band 3 to band 2 A and in the same day we bided for houses we were 1 in one property and 2 in 2 other properties and next day the bidding closed and we were still in the same positions and on next Friday we bided again but we were like 200 and 300 I don’t know why I’m confused does that mean that we’re gonna get the property we were 1 at or not and when can we expect a call from them
my husband was in waiting list for 13 years now
so if you anyone can explain the next step to me and how it works

Every Council has a different Allocations Policy. If you share your local authority location, someone may be able to advise.

I'm in tower hamlets

Wil they offer a property in a different city? Don't know if that's something that you'd be interested in but I work in a City on the Midlands and we're getting more and more Londoners working with us, some who have been given social housing.

I think the best thing to do is contact them if possible. When we bid on our house and came 1st we got a letter with a date to contact them by luckily the letter arrived within good time but imagine if it had been lost or delayed! If you had come first I don't think it would usually take longer than a week for them to tell you but every council is different.

The bid ended a week ago and we contacted the case worker last Monday she said nothing appeared on my system yet so we got a bit confused and stressed that maybe it was a glitch in the system and that maybe we are not number 1 in that bid
