Oh Bugger !!!! I've just knocked this cheapo decorative pink glass bottle (49p) into the bath and have chipped it (the bath - damn bottle is undamaged !!)

Anyone know what I should do ? Think there might be kits available - but local FOCUS hasn't heard of them !

I bet that 49p bottle will cost me a new bath ! All because I have to keep the wipes out of DDs reach as well !!! I am so fed up !

Any advice VERY gratefully received !

Thank You All !

Do you have accidental cover on your insurance? Might be worth a try. Also to echo what KS has said the bath resurfacing is great. Can recommend a company in Edinburgh if you are up here.

Just wanted to add (in case you are worried) that you can get companies to come and resurface the baths at home. Its not meant to be quite as pristine as if they take it away but it will do the job nicely and you should end up looking like you've got a new bath without having to buy one

We got a new bath on the insurance when dh bust a hole in it - no questions asked on part of insurance company!

There is a kit you can get so you can DIY. I'll see if I can find the details. (£100 to repair a 49p chip sounds a bit unfair!)

Chip the rest of your bathroom furniture to match! Not very helpful - sorry!

Scatterbrain · 15/11/2002 21:22

Ho Ho - ROFL - thanks for that !!

Am still hoping to find kit - chip is small but now looking rusty so think bath must be enamelled at least - definitely not plastic anyway.

Thanks for all info so far - hoping not to have to resort to totally new bath although do have accidental cover on insurance !

How I wish I'd never bought that pink bottle now !

Buy done Milliput Epoxy Putty. Cheap, easy and effective. Used it on my enamel bath when I dropped a glass perfume bottle on it.
