Saw about this on another website - it seems that Tracey Hogg has died of cancer, aged 44.

The excerpt comes from an Amercian website with obituaries.

December 5, 2004

Blimey ! Poor woman.

MaryChristmas · 06/12/2004 14:28

OMG!

How sad. Sad

motherinfestivemood · 06/12/2004 14:29

No, but I know when I was trying to get hold of her for work a while ago, she never got back to me - this explains it. How very sad. Christalmighty, she was only three years older than me Sad

NoMoomAtTheInn · 06/12/2004 14:30

There was a thing on her website last year about how she wasn't taking on any more clients because she was ill. So that must be it.

What a shame. She always seemed very down to earth and caring. Her book was a godsend to me in the early weeks.

woodpops · 06/12/2004 14:30

OMG, I didn't even know she was ill. What a shame. Her programmes were fab.

NoMoomAtTheInn · 06/12/2004 14:32

But (and really hope this doesn't sound crass) I always thought she looked as if she might be ill on those programmes. Always very thin and pale. Very sad.

yingers74 · 06/12/2004 14:32

i can't believe it, does anyone know whether this is def true. It is very sad, she was very young. May she RIP Sad

StNickschik · 06/12/2004 14:33

Blimey, that's far too young - poor lady and poor family!

JanH · 06/12/2004 14:34

She did look tired - I always thought it was down to all the nights she spent with the non-sleepers - what a shame, I really liked her. Sad

bahhumbug · 06/12/2004 14:35

OMG I was trying to contact her too and got no reply - I was thinking of asking for a phone consultation. How AWFUL. I've just been discovering how wonderful her ethos is. :(

blossomgoodwill · 06/12/2004 14:37

How strange as it doesn't mention anything on her website.
Very sad Sad

woodpops · 06/12/2004 14:38

That's what I thought as well, just been and looked on her website and on discovery health and there's no mention anywhere.

bahhumbug · 06/12/2004 14:43

Found a mention on the message boards area of her site - in the LOUNGE section. No official announcement though

PickasillyChristmasName · 06/12/2004 14:45

I was wondering about the lack of anything on the baywhisper website,

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 06/12/2004 16:34

Shock Sad, thats terrible. I've been watching her programme on sky and she's brilliant with children. How sad

MariNativityPlay · 06/12/2004 19:43

Very sorry to hear this. I never picked up on her book (published after ds and before dd IYSWIM) but dd's godmother, who has a newborn of her own, REALLY rates Tracey Hogg and has found her method works beautifully on her ds. That is way too young to die.

Very sad indeed to hear that awful news.

The Baby Whisperer was the only book that made sense to me. It was the perfect antedote to the 'you know nothing, do as I say' approach of Gina Ford..

Reading the book really helped me to understand what DD wanted when she was very tiny and I'll always be grateful for that.
