Executor-accounts?

My solicitor is sorting out the probate side but, as I'm not allowed to use Mum's account after her death to pay her final care-home fees off etc.,(I was her deputy but that closes on death), he's suggested that I open an executors-account. Firstly, is there any bank that I can do this with online and, secondly, do I need to have gone through probate before I can open one?

We used Barclays, mainly because most banks wouldn't do it unless the decd had an account with them.

No idea about online applications, we had to go in but that was 2017. The account was opened well before Probate was granted though.

Thankyou!
So, does everything from their old account get swapped to the new account eg: direct-debits etc.?
Mum's still got utility payments going out as sometimes we may have to use hot water /electricity when we go in there now & again.
This is really confusing me-but,to be fair, that's not hard!🤣

Sorry to be a pain but just wondering if anyone can help me?
So, probate went through ok.
Think anything owed from mum's accounts have been released now.
I put an advert in the London Gazette which has now expired but I'm a bit confused because, although any claims on the estate are supposedly too late to be considered, they still advise to wait another 10 (?) months before paying any beneficiaries.
The house is willed to just me but I don't know what to do next.
Would it be to change the name on the deeds?
