Two questions from a paypal virgin and yu gi oh novice:

-- where does the money in the paypal account come from? I haven't put anything in there, but I can just spend 500 GBP? Once I spend something, how long do I have to get the balance back up to zero?

-- will it matter if the instructions to a Yu Gi Oh GBA game are in Japanese, if the play can be in English?

Thanks. This has done my head in today.... :)

i got sent an email saying that you get £500 for some reason. but i deleted it and cant really remember what it says Blush will have a look to see if its still in my trash can. not sure about the game though. usually i dont bother looking at the instructions to the game when i play on one, and just pick up what i need to know whilst playing it so would presume it wont matter if the game will work fine on an English GBA. xxx

JJ, Paypal take the money straight out of your nominated bank account or credit card, unless you have any money sitting in your Paypal account from a previous transaction, for example if you sold something on ebay and the buyer paid you by Paypal.

Just checked my paypal account, and cant find anything to do with that email and i havent got anything in my account. have you sold anything that happened to come to £500? (good on you if you did! Grin)

Thanks. I haven't set up the direct debit or the credit card and the balance is zero, but the limit is 500 GBP. I'm scared about bidding and not being able to pay!

tammybear, haven't sold anything... would be nice, though.

JJ- you'll register a credit card before it allows you to pay for anything- don't worry as paypal will prompt you at the time.
The £500 limit is to do with money laundering or something in that £500 is all that you are allowed to transact without verifying who you are- you do this by giving them your credit card number and they charge you $1.95.
A code is then given to you on your credit card statement which you input into paypal and you can then basically use paypal as a online bank that you charge up and spend from. You do get the $1.95 back by the way

pixiefish, so if I just register a credit card it will let me pay? I don't have a UK bank account.... argh! BUT my husband does so I registered him, too.

Thanks again for the help!

You can only use your bank account on one paypal account. It's ok- just register a credit card for payments- the only problem is that you need to register a bank account if you're going to sell stuff as you need a bank account to withdraw the money into.

Ah HA! Thank you, I get it now. :) Yes, I'm a bit dim (left the milk at Tesco's this afternoon after having paid for it!).

Well, I've bid on something, so the game is on!

Hi JJ and good luck! My son has a few japanese pokemon cards but the game doesn't change. It's the same for yu gi ho. Ss long as your son remembers how to play the game, he should be ok.

Thanks! I'm still deciding which game to get him - never knew there were so many Yu Gi Oh GBA games. AND I've won a bid, paid and already gotten positive feedback. Someone should have warned me how addictive ebay is... Grin
