Not sure what to do?

Long story short my family are near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. We absolutely love the area and want to move back to Kent to be nearer to family. However, we use to live in Hertfordshire (loved the area too) but couldn't afford to buy there so ended up near Newmarket in Suffolk as a job came up near there with my husband's firm. We are now ready to look at moving away from Suffolk but are torn between Kent and possibly Bedfordshire (near where we use to live in Hertfordshire, but affordable). My husband feels there are more job opportunities in the Milton Keynes/Bedfordshire area for IT but I think Kent has a lot to offer too and I feel a pull more towards Kent as missing my family (husband from abroad). Does anyone know what the IT job market is like in the TW area? Looking on indeed they seem to be low wages in Kent. I just feel as my parents are getting older that being near family is more important but so are jobs.

Side note, my husband also gets a military pension which amounts to 40,000 pounds per annum so I feel even if he takes a wage drop, we are lucky as will always have his pension to fall back on. Also there are more jobs for me in Kent but want to go by my husband's career as he is the breadwinner and I do not enjoy my work at present.

Any opinions? Family in Kent with a job with less money or move somewhere with no family and friends but more job opportunities especially with the economy as it is now?

@Delectable Thank you. My husband has managed to transfer his job to a Kent location and we are in the process of moving to TW.
