I just want to MOAN
Pls feel free NOT to read

I really thought this year might be better than last but it is a farking nightmare!

I fell over a chair in the garden and broke my rib last week

My father is going in to hospital on weds to have a tumour removed from his bladder

My mother (not married to him but lives next door and they are good friends) last night tripped over and fractured her arm. She looks after dd on Thurs and Fri after school but won't be able to drive now for 8 weeks. so that is my childcare buggered (selfish I know)

She was meant to be looking after my Dad when he comes out of hosp. And having our dog for a week while we go away soon (I can sort that one easily enough)

My grandmother has gone mad and was taken to hospital today

DD has a vile chest infection and is on her second course of antibiotics

I am just waiting to hear that dh has been decapitated in a freak accident or something.

I just wanted to SCREAM

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thank you

That does sound bad tbh. Hope things work out better over the next couple of months. In the meantime - it it really annoying of me to point out that at least you and your family have got your money's worth from the NHS?

misdee · 04/02/2008 12:45

oh that really shit all that happening at once.

hopefully thats your bad luck for the year done, and the rest of the year will be good.

TheHonEnid · 04/02/2008 12:45

I am so sorry

that is an incredible amount for anyone to deal with

heroin is not all its cracked up to be

I would recommend good red wine and excercise and lots of sex with dh instead

CountessDracula · 04/02/2008 12:46

Sex and exercise out due to cracked rib

NorthernLurker · 04/02/2008 12:46

oh practical suggestion - how much would it be for your mum to use a taxi to do the childcare days? Would it be chearper and easier than arranging something else?

TheHonEnid · 04/02/2008 12:46

of course how silly of me

go for the heroin then

with love xx

CountessDracula · 04/02/2008 12:47

Nope she lives 70 miles away

She has offered to come up on the train! But I can't make her do that with a broken arm ffs. How will she carry her bag?

CountessDracula · 04/02/2008 12:47

Am going out for lunch with collegues to moan now.

Poor them

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 04/02/2008 12:55

you can arrange for train personnel to help people on and off the train - and her taxi driver could lug bags at each end- hope lunch is good anyway!

Flllightattendant · 04/02/2008 13:05

It is totally shit of course but one way to look at it is in an awful Pollyanna type way. Use it as a way of exploring alternatives. For example, your mum can't have the kids but could that be used as an excuse for something else, like you taking some compassionate leave and, well, making muffins as it were! When we couldn't use the car last week, we went out super early and walked to school - Ok it took nearly an hour and was tiring but it was an adventure. That kind of thing.
I don't know how the land lies and my insignificant comparison is nothing to your major troubles atm, so prob not much help. But if you can't fight it, go with it is always a good one to remember.

(possibly patronising but well intentioned) !

Flllightattendant · 04/02/2008 13:06

Hope DD is better soon, too, Chest infections can be horrid. xx

CountessDracula · 04/02/2008 15:27

ah her old nanny has kindly stepped in and is having dd on Thurs/Fri after school and the dog for the week while we are away

phew
