I am a complete social buffoon However DD and I have been invited around to someone's house today for a play date. I am going to go after lunch - what is an appropriate amount of time to stay? should i take anything? The girls are 2.5. The mum is lovely, although i don't know her very well, i think we could be good friends.

Just see how it goes.
Would leave sometime before the weekend though!
A couple of hours should be fine.

God, I hate the term "play date." Are we all American now?

i have to say, im not so keen on it. But then, its quite cute i guess. Anyway.....It went really well. DD had a great time, we stayed for three hours . I couldn't quite believe it when i looked at my phone on the way home
