What style of knitted hat do you like for your baby or toddler, bonnet style which is tied or buttoned under chin, or beanie style?

Tied or buttoned order the chin means the hat won't get lost.

Also, ear flaps are important.

Definitely ties with the ear flaps for winter! I like the ears and the cable knit.

No, I didn't knit them, but looking at patterns. There are a few babies due with my co-workers, and these are nice little gifts. I just wouldn't want to do knitting without knowing if the item is wanted and on-trend.
