Hello all
Im organising a charity fundraising evening on April in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I have lost boht parents to cancer and so it is a cause very close to my heart.
It will be held at Lapwater Hall- a local restaurant in Bradford, and Im selling tickets for 10.00 which includes DJ, hot open buffet and raffles/auctions of gift donations from local and major businesses.
All planning has been going well so far, with the local newspaper publishing an article on the event. However, out of the 40+ letters I have sent to businessed asking for gift donations, only two have replied. Very generous donations from GHD and Bradford Bulls might I add and smaller donations of jewellery, vouchers from local businesses.
Im trying my upmost best to make a success of the night, and I was hoping for further help/advice from fellow MNers! Do any of you work for a company who may like to donate a gift that Id be able to auction/raffle?
Does anybody have any ideas that I could incorporate into the evening that will be cost effective yet entertaining?
For more information please read the article in Telegraph & Argus, and if confirmation of the event is needed, this can be obtained via Lapwater Hall on 01274 681545.
Alternatively, I can be contacted at rachelsaka at hotmail.com
Thankyou!
