Please could anyone give me any guidance as to whom I can give a present to that will be distributed locally within the UK for children that are going without in my area! (Derbyshire)

So far have asked HV, who has families in need, but can't accept anything from me directly....
She suggested I leave something at the Christian centre, who I can't get hold of.......

Tried the local CVS and they have nothing....

Does anyone know if Sally Army any good for leaving kids stuff at? or anywhere else for that matter?
If your in Derbyshire and struggling to get stuff for your kids, let me know please as I want to help!

Often Local radio stations have info on this, I know our one has 'operation Santa Claus' but we are in Colchester.

I think that ASDA often collects presents to, but often in December so I would wait and see.

Frizbe - don't live in Derbys - but quite a few shopping centres down here do giving trees or wishing trees. You donate a wrapped parcel which is given out to local children. I'm sure that either Ottakers or Borders the bookshops do something like this.

One other option would be to ring a local children's home and find out what charities donate to them.

From our church we send (new) toys and ladies toiletries to the local emergency refuge. There is certain to be one near you, though I'm not sure how you find out. Your HV may be able to give you a phone number for them.

Crunchie - I used to do that "Operation Santa Claus" when I worked on a radio station down your way. Used to be great fun, if rather frenetic!
