pre_worn Ebay

I will make this as straight to the point as possible.

I ordered 3 items from pre_worn on eBay.
They used a courier for delivery. The courier recorded these items as delivered and yet there was no item posted through the letterbox, no item left around the property or with neighbours (or any card detailing this). The address I gave was correct. The items would easily have fit through the letterbox anyway.

I contacted the person in charge and he told me (rather smugly) I could open a case with eBay, knowing full well he had “proof” of delivery from the courier and would not have to do anything to help me, and that eBay would side with him.

Of course this is exactly what happened. Yet it seems so unfair. I did absolutely everything I could on my end to locate this parcel, it was not delivered, and all I asked from this man was for him to at least investigate with his courier because they had not fulfilled their role.

He ignored all my correspondence and waited until the end for ebay to come in and close the case.

Is there nothing else I can do? It is not even as much about the money as it is about justice. I paid for items I did not receive, and because the courier states delivered despite it not actually being delivered, I cannot do anything?

I used to sell on eBay and whenever there was a problem I would do everything I could to sort it for the buyer.

I had exactly the same experience as you.....only as the seller. The buyer made a complaint and the money was returned from my account immediately. Weeks later I rechecked the delivery company's website which told me that there had been delays on deliveries and that my item was probably delayed and by the time I had read those details the item would have been delivered. So, the seller had their money back and also had the item. I had nothing. Ebay didn't care.

Nothing too much to add OP but I hear your frustrations with EBay, and yes, they are losing loyalty.

Sorry you had that experience. I wonder if they have actual human beings bothering to read the details of each case.

I just saw their feedback and it seems this has happened a lot with this company. I should have checked first I guess.

I was actually just looking at alternative sites to buy and sell clothes on, if anyone has any suggestions I am open.

Vinted, so much cheaper and easier.

I'm surprised eBay sided with the buyer - they can do a 'no fault' refund. Do you have a very long relationship and good feedback yourself?

Did you pay by Paypal? You could try a Paypal claim, or if you used a debit card, a chargeback claim.

I have to say I have bought from Pre-worn a couple of times and not had an issue, but the parcels turned up so I don't have experience of claiming against them.

... sided with the seller, I mean. It's so uncommon I automatically typed 'buyer'.

How long ago was the items due to be delivered? The only reason I ask is because I recently has something similar happen. Ordered an item from a business, two days later tracking said that I had signed for it. It arrived about three days later. Turned out the courier driver (freelancer|) signed my name for it as he had loads of packages and knew he would not be delivering it the day it was due.

I have a long history, and 100% positive feedback both as seller and buyer. I have gone out of my way to help buyers and be a good seller, so I expected this company to at least contact their courier and make a small effort to find out what happened.

I am actually kind of shocked that couriers can just say parcels are delivered if they want, and everything ends there. I basically have no way of proving myself to eBay other than to invite them around for a cup of tea and take a look for themselves.

The fact that the seller wouldn’t even bother chasing up them up for further information though.

I will see what I can do on PayPal, other than that I guess I will chalk it up to experience and make sure I buy elsewhere. Thanks for your responses
