What does everyone do on New Years Eve. Since having DD (3.3yrs) DP and myself always stay at home for it, we moan about the rubbish films and television programmes they show and i usually end up going to bed at 10.00 pm coz im so bored! I vowed this year would be different so i need some divine inspiration! most of our family live abroad, and our friends with children have got their family to babysit so it really will just be the two of us.

I usually work as a penance for getting Christmas off.

chunky: why not have a lavish gorgeous dinner just the two of you. dh and i did this (before we had ds!) and it was one of the best nye we've ever had. devise a menu of your absolute favourite things and go overboard in terms of having lots of courses (try to make it stuff that you can prepare earlier or that needs no prep) get some lovely champagne and wine in, both get dressed up, candles etc...could be lovely??? hth

chunkymunkey, we have the last two years invited friends who had no plans to come over, drink and play party games. this year though I think we might go abroad and get away from it all.

Hope u get some divine inspiration!

Going abroad or even away for a night sounds great, not sure how expensive this would be though, or where to go. My 2 closest friends with children are staying with family over the Xmas and New Year period so they wont be around. I like your suggestion sophable, perhaps we could rent a good dvd and maybe get in a takeaway, nice bottle of wine surrounded by candles, just a little different from a usual night in front of the box. We are trying for baby no 2 at the moment, so perhaps this might be the night!!
