Has anyone received a message from Paypal saying that their security systems have identified that a "third party" may have accessed their account? I have been asked to change security questions and password and had to accept a phone call on my landline and quote a special code!! All very weird, what can happen if someone accesses your paypal account, I've only used it a dozen times or so to get bits from Ebay.

Be careful with these emails! Did the email mention your name or did it just say 'dear paypal member'?

It was addressed to me and I went into Paypal directly (not through link) and it was all above board, my first instinct was scam!

Yes, I had one of those a couple of years ago (like you, my first instinct was "scam" but took all the relevant precautions and it was genuine). I still have no idea what triggered it, mind you.

OK thanks, very curious, I'll just forget about it...
