How long have you been in yor new place? I dont think there really is a right amount of time. It took me ages to think of my house as home and not my parents place.

We have been here for 5mths now nearly. It is only round the corner from last place so we are still in the same area etc, but i just feel anxious all the time i'm here.

5 mnths is no time really. I think it took me about 3 years before i stopped thinking of my parents place as home. Are you anxious about anything in particular or is it just a general feeling?

Hmm dunno really, just feel odd being here, considering all the time we waited to get it and now we have it and it's still odd.

Sorry i'm not making alot of sense.

I even thought maybe we should move again the other day, which considering all we went trough would be mad.

If you had a tough time getting the place its no wonder you have ambivelant feelings about it now you're in. Moving house is supposed to be one of the most stressful things you can do and thats when things go smoothly. Try not to worry too much - slowly but surely it will start to feel like home. Have you had a chance to put your own stamp on it yet? Even if money is tight after the move you may find that painting the living room or your bedroom and getting a couple of cheap nicnaks may help you to feel more at home.

nutty i'm not settled yet. am trying to be, but untill everything isn sorted and straight, all the kids pics are up and we have really left our mark on the place it wont feel like home. I have moved loads over the last 4years, so am not expecting this place to feel like home till i've been here for at least a year.

I've been in my place for 4 months now and am only just starting to feel like it's my home. It felt really alien at first. You will feel settled in time I'm sure!

Thanks all.

Perhaps i was expecting too much to quickly then.

We have no piccies up of the kids yet either Misdee and that was getting to me, so i brought a couple of cheap frames the other day and put a little one of each of them up.

I think i feel guilty still that i got it in the first place.
