I am not sure where to post this but

Pls is this gold shiny suit (see attached photo) appropriate for a summer wedding for a 10year old?
The wedding is in August during the day.
I ordered it from children salon and on arrival now I noticed is shiny and I have always thought shiny clothing are for evening occasions. Am I wrong in my opinion pls. What do you all think?

erm it’s a bit “greatest showman” to me sorry

Floydthebarber · 30/06/2022 09:55

That is amazing but might be very hot?

NahNoWay · 30/06/2022 09:56

It's a bit much.

Unless they're an usher and that's what the bride has chosen

It's akin to taking a little girl in a bridesmaid dress when she isn't one.

Too OTT.

RandomQuest · 30/06/2022 09:56

I don’t think it’s inappropriate per se but it just looks really hot and uncomfy for August and unnecessarily so as I doubt any of the adults will be that dressy unless the wedding is actually black tie.

For a summer wedding I’d be thinking something more like this from John Lewis. The other one is great but more “evening” and glitzy, and he’ll be hot!

OTT and it’s not very nice, sorry

It’s a bit Saturday Night Fever for a wedding.

PatriciaHolm · 30/06/2022 10:09

Way too ott! Assuming the 10 year old isn't part of the wedding party, they just need a smart shirt and trousers.

Pretty sure I wouldn't have got my DS within a mile of that either when he was 10 :-) he would probably have worn a nice shirt and smart shorts tbh.

NerrSnerr · 30/06/2022 10:14

If they're not part of the wedding party I think it's OTT. I'd just go for some chinos and a shirt or polo shirt. I'd go on the more comfortable side.

I think I would be fine without the jacket.....

I don't think I've ever seen a child (who isn't part of the wedding party) wearing a full suit with the jacket for a summer wedding.
