I would due to the vomiting, it is better to be safe than sorry. Did he hit his head?

Sunshinemummy · 14/01/2008 15:47

I'd ring NHS Direct and see what they suggest.

Hecate · 14/01/2008 15:49

Yes. If he's been sick, get someone to take a look. Take him down to the gp. If in doubt, there's no doubt - as the saying goes!!

I'm sure he's fine though, but it's more for you than him.

nappyaddict · 14/01/2008 15:49

he's only been sick a tiny bit on his tshirt. he has a red mark on his forehead presumably where he hit it.

If he's been sick then yes I'd get him checked over. If he hadn't been sick then I'd say just keep an eye on him.

Hecate · 14/01/2008 15:53

Could have been the shock of falling down the stairs, rather than an injury.

Don't rely on our opinion though! We are all internet sprites. Figments of your imagination! If you have any concerns about him - sleepy, confused etc - get him seen. OK?

ArmadilloDaMan · 14/01/2008 15:53

if he's been sick I would get him checked out.

IS he sleepy or anything else unusual?

chocoholic · 14/01/2008 15:54

I would call NHS direct.
I think it is best to be on the safe side with head injuries so if in doubt just take him down to your GPs to get him checked over.

tasjaSAmuminUK · 14/01/2008 15:55

Just calm down! It will be alright! I know exactly how you feel. Happened to my DD(20months) 2months ago. I was hysterical (spelling?)
take him to doc so that they can just check him over.

NatalieJane · 14/01/2008 15:56

I think the advice is to get them checked out if they are sick more than 3 times within an hour of the bump.

But I, personally, would get him checked to be on the safe side. Hope all is well

Overrun · 14/01/2008 15:57

Don't bother to ring NHS direct, they nearly always tell you to take a child in, so you may as well get him checked out by a Dr or nurse

nappyaddict · 14/01/2008 16:01

he's been sick again. about a handful of sick - sorry if tmi!! mum says i'm worrying over nothing cos he's playing and he's happy and alert.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 14/01/2008 16:02

Saturn74 · 14/01/2008 16:02

He'll be fine.
But get him checked out by a doctor.

dd666 · 14/01/2008 16:04

hi na hope he ok dd has fell down stairs lots of times incidently each time before meein up with you and your ds to play, as long as he happy keep an eye on him! the sick could have been the shock!

dd666 · 14/01/2008 16:06

dp signed in if you need to chat x

TheIceQueen · 14/01/2008 16:07

my DS1 and 2 have fallen downstairs on numerous occasions - but have never been sick - if they had I would definitely have got them checked out. If he's been sick again then I'd go and get him looked at - if only to set your mind at east

nappyaddict · 14/01/2008 16:08

haha must have been the excitement of seeing me that made her fall down them.

OP posts:
coby · 14/01/2008 16:10

When my DD hit her head badly a few months ago they told me to get her checked out if she was sick twice within 24 hours of falling. This is because the doctors would rather be safe than sorry.

I wouldn't worry but I would take him to get checked out for your owm peace of mind - despite what your mum might say (sorry nappyaddicts mum)

TheMadHouse · 14/01/2008 17:44

NA - how is he now?

nappyaddict · 14/01/2008 23:51

not sure. i had to leave my mum to sort him out cos i had to go to work. i assume he's ok cos i've had no phone calls to say otherwise.
