i ve had a bad ear all weekend, its been really painful, i think its an ear infection, so my DP phoned the docs by 8:00Am this morning to make me an appointment and they said that from now they only open at 3:00PM on mondays till 4:00PM and that they gonna open at 7:00AM on tuesdays untill 10:00Am and they're not gonna open a tall on thursdays!! so he asked for an appointment and they said that i could come about 9:15AM 2morrow but they cant garantee i ll be seen, and they dont let u make an appointment in advance they do it on a first come first served basis the only reason they let him ask for tomorrow is that he played hell with them!
its really p**d me off cos it could have been my DS that was ill, i cant change docs cos the nearest one then is a 30 min drive away and even longer on the bus.
im so ANGRY i could scream (but i'd best not as it ll hurt my ear)

has any one else had these types of probs with their doctors????

Nothing to contribute except sympathy, having had several ear infections in the past. Last time, I had a new doctor who just looked at it and said there was no sign of infection (I knew from previous infection that there damn well was) and to go away and take paracetamol (which i am allergic to). Two hours later my eardrum burst. Never known such pain even when giving birth! and when I went back to her that evening, she didn't even remember me !!!

I was going to say - change doctors - I did - but you obviously can't if you're so far from the next one. You could try complaining to the local NHS trust & your MP to see if any pressure can be put on them to become more accessible.

Really hope you get seen tomorrow.
