What would your choice be?

Trying to move from city to country.. we aren't loaded, so house choices are limited. We have 2, that we like. So my dilemma is this, in no particular order:-

House 1 - pretty, less to do on it, but boundaries are weird, not straight forward, i.e. you don't even own the path leading to your backdoor, no parking. Couple of small outbuildings, we could make use of, which we would need, good garden. Small village/town setting. Mains gas etc.

House 2 - ugliest House in village, other houses, pretty thatched cottages, this house 1960's terraced house. Front & back garden, garage. Needs everything doing, which isn't a problem, as we can/would make it lovely. Beautiful village, rolling hills, trees, front and back. But frontage isn't a wow. Oil heated.

Which would you go for.. being told follow my gut or heart isn't helping, as I'm going back and forth......

House 2. You might not even get a mortgage on house 1, if there are access/boundary problems. Also, house 1 access may change, depending on the whim of the land owner, so there is potential for the situation to get worse, to the detriment on the value of house 1. OTOH most problems can be overcome and it may be possible to draw up a legal agreement that safeguards the access during the purchase process.

Imagine the potential for ndn issues with house 1.....

Two. Definitely. Anything to do with boundaries or parking can lead to endless problems and this house has both.

First one.
You don't want to be ducking in your house hoping no-one sees you as you are embarrassed to be the owner.
You should feel proud of your home.

Lol KylieCharlene.. I'm not sure if I'm being snobby and like No 1, as it's more wowish from outside, but No 2, as more potential and is bigger..... I'm so confused
