I'm in a verbally abusive relationship, I get shouted at and put down every night, the reason it's every night is that my partner works everyday he does not come straight home he goes to the pub till the place closes and comes home drunk and shouts and puts me down till he falls asleep this can be between 10 minutes to a a few hours ,he takes drugs also and also had a bad gambling addiction in my head I call him an abusive alcoholic druggy gambling addict , he does not give me money for rent or bills I pay for everything and it's my house only and he takes money of me to , he controls who I talk to he does not like me talking to my family including my parents or sister's he says I'm taking the piss and rubbing it in cause he's no family as he was adopted so I have to see my family in private, I've been putting up with him for 28 years he's always been the same and always will be he shows signs of being narcissistic ,I really want to leave our children are grown up and have left home ,can anyone please give me advice I don't go out I don't drink and I certainly don't do drugs ,I only go out to work I only work part-time, my home is in my name only and everything in my home is mine that I've paid for , all he pays for is drink drugs and his gambling, I need out I really do but don't know how to go about and feel I can't talk to people I know , thank you.
