Does anyone own a Nissan Almera?

Just been to Mothercare to get DD a front facing car seat. We wanted to Maxi Cosi Priori but they said it didn't fit due to buckle crunch so we asked about the Priori Isofix one and they said it hadn't been crash tested in a Almera so they wouldn't advise buying it. Does anyone have one in their Almera or alternatively suggestions for other good ones!

Thank you

We had a Britax Eclipse, now we have the next Britax one (oine that converts to a booster cushion)

We could only get the britax ones to fit in our Almera...all the others had problems with the buckles. M/care tried about 10 before they found one they were happy with.

Britax fit most cars, and i swear by mine after a major crash 2 years ago, that left me badly hurt DD1 had a bruise on her foot, that was all.

we have a maxi cosi tobi in our almera (2004). it was fitted by a rep from the company (dorel) who just happened to be in training the staff at john lewis when we went. perhaps the tobi has a narrower base than the priori?

I've just bought a Maxi-cosi PrioriFix and am looking at the car fitting list as we speak. It says for a Almera, you can have the seat that is harnessed with the 3 point seat belt but not the isofix model either in front seat, or back seats (not the middle).

I have a 1999 Almera. We could not find a single car seat to fit on the back. They all had buckle crunch due to the fact that the seat belt (the bit you click into) is fitted on a length of webbing rather than being static. In the end we have had to put the car seat in the front passenger seat. I am not particularly happy about this but DD is safer there than in a poorly fitting one in the back. If we have another baby we will need to change the car as we can only fit one car seat in it. We won't be getting another Almera! Which year/model do you have?

Hi, thanks for all your replies - am going to go and try a Britax Exclipse tomorrow and see if that fits as we have discovered that even though its a 2002 Almera it doesn't have isofix points which is a bit rubbish and cuts the options down even more. Caughtintheact we looked at the Tobi but it seemed v.narrow and DD seemed quite squashed in and she is only 10mths and about 22lbs. Littlemissnorty was told by mothercare if you have isofix any seat will fit but the reason the maxi cosi website does not list it is because almera's have not been crash tested to ensure the isofix works. lisad - sorry to hear about your crash - makes me want a Britax though!
