Hey Everyone,

Recently brought a dash cam front and rear all been hardwired. I have noticed many of the cameras parking modes only detects once a bump has happened therefore only recording the after math of a bump. Anyone had any experience with this? Like hit and runs and if this footage was actually enough for insurance purposes? Any input is appreciated.

I have a dash cam in my car, I was involved in a pretty serious crash but the dash cam was evidence I wasn't speeding or driving dangerously, just took a corner too fast.

DH has one with a parking mode which showed someone bumping into him in a supermarket car park, he gave the reg number etc to the police and they just gave him a crime number...

Surely driving around a corner too fast would be dangerous driving, of which definition is,

(a)the way they drives falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful driver, and
(b)it would be obvious to a competent and careful driver that driving in that way would be dangerous.

Or at least careless driving,

The offence of driving without due care and attention (careless driving) is committed when your driving falls below the minimum standard expected of a competent and careful driver, and includes driving without reasonable consideration for other road users
