Thanks Phono..and dd3 is like your ds...she would sleep through ww3 but if you tiptoe in her room she will wake up!!

thanks for your concerns ladies, I suspect a lot of my problems might be to do with side effects from the Methotrexate so con may say I have to stop it .

Have just spent 2 hours cuddling dd on sofa while watching daytime tv. cm texted to say she was very unsettled and would not eat while I was napping on my lunchbreak so I decided to pick her up and come back home.

Escape to the country was not much good and I missed neighbours but she has now woken up very cheery with another tooth (5 now, only 27? to go)

I can't believe that people can be so malicious to make up such awful stories when there is so much real suffering in the world.

Yay for Freds dry dd (I can't wait), Phonos ds and boiler and Egg's sleeping dts, how is ds1 behaving around them now?

we haven't seen Squonk today, hope they are all well?

hi everyone

all well here, but I was rushing around a bit this morning and by the time I was ready to switch the puter on, there didn't seem much point so I thought I'd have a computer-less day. Which was a good plan till I remembered that it's book group tonight, so here I am.

Nice that you missed me though.

Marmite - you did the right thing picking up dd and coming home. You do need to see the doc though and find out what's actually wrong.

I posted on Mrs.G's thread - I have to say I did supsect that there was a bit of trolling going on, it seemed a bit suspect, I think if your husband had just thrown you down the stairs, you wouldn't be looking for a parenting forum to complain about it. If it was a regular poster... ok, but not a newbie. Didn't know about the giving birth and posting pics off the www though!

fred - well done for the toilet training, am very have just about got ds into underpants during the day but neither dd2 or ds are dry at night.

Right, off to check my emails before book group starts...

marmitemad · 26/02/2008 20:36

Squonk - glad you are all well.

I would love to join a book group but it takes me soooo long to read a book now I would always be about 3 books behind everyone else!

dh just got home and gave me a hard time about picking up dd from cm. He thinks she was too willing to fob her off and kept ranting on about my work. I told him its my choice to leave work to look after dd and it was fine to leave today, it might not always be so easy but above all dd is and always will be my priority, he then said maybe I should stop working . I've cooked him dinner (but none for me ) and left him on his own to stew in the lounge!

fryalot · 26/02/2008 21:34

marmite - would you want to give up work? could you afford it?

Well, I think you did the right thing. CMs don't randomly ring parents every time a mindee has a bit of a wobbly! And if work were fine about it, then that's ok.

You need to eat though, especially if you're recovering/trying to keep your strength up.

Re: book club - we only read one a month so it's not too tough to keep up. Tonight we're talking about To Kill A Mocking Bird. Twas a fab book...

Dropdeadfred · 26/02/2008 22:09

Marmite, as Squonk already asked - would you/could you give up work?

OP posts:
marmitemad · 27/02/2008 08:45

we could probably just about manage if I didn't work but I feel it helps me and Abbie to have time apart and other interests besides each other, however am begining to feel it would be nice to only do 2 days but not sure if that would be practical.

I know I did the right thing picking up dd, dh just needs to agree with me (this was the first time I'd had to pick her up but I think he'd had a tough day at work as well).

I didn't eat any dinner as I still felt nauseous but have managed some crunchy nut this morning and have booked a drs appoint for 09:30am.

I haven't read To kill a Mocking Bird since GCSEs, I can't really remember much about it . How long do you get to read each book before the review? I seem to have missed this starting up on MN. I am enjoying reading Small Island by Andrea Levy atm after recommendation by a friend.

did anyone get woken by the earthquake? we all slept through it although CM said she thought someone was hiding in her wardrobe!

Egg · 27/02/2008 08:54

Bet Squonk felt the earthquake!

Marmite I loved Small Island! That's the one set in the war with the Jamaicans coming to London isn't it? It was fab.

Good luck at docs. Hope it goes well. Hope you are well enough to come and see us in a couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!

Personally I also think you did the right thing picking up DD. If the CM was always calling saying that she was unsettled etc then I would worry but she clearly only did it as she was worried about her.

Had great start to night last night, was in my own bed from 9pm til 2:30am, but then it went pear shaped and everyone was up at 6:30 (as well as 3:45 and 5:30 for babies).

congrats Mr. Phono - isn't it every little boy's dream to be a train driver?

We get a month to read our books, and we're currently voting for next months. You can find the threads under Adult Fiction. It's good, I am enjoying it. I get to read some books that otherwise I wouldn't touch and am enjoying them.

Yep, earthquake was felt here For some reason both the littlies decided to be awake, dp was working downstairs and I had the kids in bed with me. Dp was calm and rational and thought it was an earthquake and came upstairs to make sure we were all ok.

I hid under the covers because I thought it was a ghost.

I don't believe in ghosts.

Perhaps I do believe in ghosts, I just didn't realise I did

dd1 slept right through it.

dd2 and ds didn't seem the slightest bit bothered - they were both awake, but neither of them was frightened

kids!

marmitemad · 27/02/2008 10:45

dr was mystified & hopeless, she had a feel of my tummy and said all the symptoms I described could indicate pg and suggested I do another test, we have also agreed that I will stop the pill at the end of this packet and see how I feel after a month.

I was surprised she didn't check my bp. got a test from tescos and its another bfn so def not pg but then I am reminded of the early starts by Egg .

I can remember being on a mountain in Wales when I was 8 and experiencing an earth tremor, I was scared of out my skin, it felt like the world was ending. I also remember the gates of the house we were staying at didn't join up after. the last time we had one at home dh woke me shouting "stop shaking the bed".

Well done Phono's dp, when is the next interview?

dd seemed a little unsettled again this morning but went off ok with CM.

I will hunt down the book club thread

Dropdeadfred · 27/02/2008 11:07
