choosing wallpaper help needed

Hi could anyone recommend wallpaper for a lounge in light a colour for a brown sofas and cream carpets room, there is a dado rail half way up the wall and i dont know if its in fashion or if borders are in fashion and do they go above the dado or at top of room by ceiling?

lounge is stripped decorator waiting for me to choose paper and i cant!!! upto £12 a roll.

Wouldn't do border - with dado would be too fussy. Is it really halfway up wall or one third?

Thats really nice thanks oops dadi is about one third up just reaches top of sofas. Any more ideas appreciated got to choose in next 2 days,

also the stairs what type should go in there? same cream carpet throughout.

Do you intend to paper the same design above and below the dado? If not, it is more usual to go slightly darker below. For example, the wallpaper Paula linked to above with the darkest shade in the paper picked out and in paint below. Or cream walls above, paper below...

Stairs? You're having the hallway/landing done too? Have you got any furniture in there? Plenty of light? Dado rail again or any other features?

1 m sq top and bottom small landing, 2 handrails, no furniture.
