Support for single mums

Hey.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experience with government financial help for a full time working single mum?

Do they offer support with rent?

I am not in this situation, however I don't have the feeling I used to have for my husband we have been together 10 years and married 5 but since have out DD, I just don't have the same feelings for him. His feelings for me have not changed. I just don't know what to do. The smallest things he does irritates me.

I constantly think life would be easier on my own and only have to worry about my DD and not my husband as well. He isn't the most helpful.

Has anyone else felt like this?

Hi OP, you should be able to get support with rent. It depends on how much you earn and how much your rent is. I was in this situation when my children were little and I was able to claim housing benefit and tax credits. My understanding is that these have now been replaced by Universal Credit. There are calculators you can use online to work out how much you could get.
