please tell me what i’m supposed to do!

my now ex partner and I have a privately rented property together and we live here with our 9 month old. We’ve broken up, and will not be getting back together. He’s moving back to his parents next week.

He works full time. I receive universal credit at the moment as I was made redundant. I would like to stay living here, otherwise my son and me will be homeless and I have no family around me. Do I have to tell my landlord that he’s moved out? My Dad is going to help cover the rent, so I know i’ll be able to pay it. But i’m worried he will kick me out or say I can’t renew my tenancy as it’s up for renewal in a few weeks.

Also, if his name stays on the tenancy, can I change my universal credit claim to being a single person or would I have to keep it as a joint claim? please help me, I just want to keep a roof over my babies head and his tummy full.

Sorry I have no knowledge about any of this, I just wanted to bump your post in the hope that someone with some sound advice comes along and can help.

There is a little bit of info here for tenants & they post a link to shelter tenancy checker.

It sounds really tough. I hope you get some answers soon Flowers
