how long do essential oils last?

I've just found some essential oils and bath stuff that have been hidden at the back of the cupboard for three years

they say best before end June 05 but as my dh always says, "What's to go off?"

anyone know?

Hi, the properties fade but the smell may linger.... So they are good still if you still want the smell but the actually therapeutics properties of the oils are gone within a year of opening I think.....
