Friend needs therapy support after break up?

My friend has asked me to help her out, she broke up with her on off boyfriend a few months ago, they were together for about 5 years. To say the relationship was toxic is an understatement, she said that now that she has found someone else she is struggeling to let go of a lot of the things her ex did to her mentally. She hasnt told me all the ins and outs but I was witness to him berating her for her weight and making her isolate herself over a period of time. He has made her feel like she has no self worth and isn't worthy now. What kind of mental health support should I be seeking for her? Is there a specific kind of therapy? Any help would be appreciated?

I can’t help with the therapy question, but would suggest you get her a copy of “Why does he do that?” by Lundy Bancroft.

Oh, and she may well benefit from the Freedom Programme.

Thankyou for the suggestions they are really appreciated. The book looks great, she doesn't see it as domestic abuse as such but I think that book will help her
