(Not) parking at Thorpe Park - advice requested!

I’m picking up my daughter from Thorpe Park after a day out with friends but for ease of access and meeting up I’d rather not have to drive in and wait in the resort car park as I’m not visiting the resort, it’s enormous and hard for people to locate people / cars etc. Is there anywhere they could safely walk a short ish distance and I can meet them there? Is it even possible? Thank you.

I think it's safer to park in the car park. It's not that big actually and if you agree on a likely area beforehand, they'd know where to find you.
I'm guessing there might be an alleyway running towards a residential area along the secondary car park (the muddy smaller one) because I saw people walking there but I have no idea - google maps should help.

The first part of the car park is easiest for pickup up. It is not particularly vast. And you could walk up and wait for them by the barriers but I've never known a teenager getting lost there - some inbuilt radar they can find their parents when it benefits them. 😁

Thank you @Branster - sounds like it makes most sense just to park up and wander up to the barrier or even allow them to find me via their inner GPS! And a very good point about teenagers, they manage very well when it suits Smile

I was surprised how small the car park was and there is a separate drop off and pick up but I think

As you drive in to the left there is a general car park - usually full of Uber/taxis & parents waiting to do the drop offs: pick ups. It’s pretty much in front of the entrance & the teenagers pretty much figure it out!

Unless it’s changed!!

Not left - right I mean ( so wish Mumsnet had an edit button)

Thank you both @FiveGoMadInDorset and @Change123today - advice much appreciated. I’ll try to look out for the (right not left!) separate area and settle myself with the Ubers and other parents! I guess it would sense to design a more transient ‘waiting area’ as there will be a few of us around! 🚗
