We stay at dh sisters cottage in Gorleston sometimes.

It has a great beach, is not too crowded. Infact we went for new year.

I know they have some camp sites around - Great Yarmouth awy with pools

Cherry trees is one I think

havne't been to Suffolk but had several lovely Norfolk holidays. We go near to Burnham Market which is lovely but gets v.busy with Boden types. Wells next the Sea is lovely, old fashioned beach day out. If you like yomping around we've had some nice days out at Burnham Overy Staithe where you can get a great walk over the mud flats to little secluded beachy areas.

Southwold is lovely, old fashioned sea side place. Punch and Judy and a nice beach. Have been twice

littlerach · 05/01/2008 19:13

Agree Soithwold nis great.

sazzybeehomeforxmas · 05/01/2008 19:15

Both Suffolk and Norfolk coasts are lovely. Inland there's quite a lot to do in both places although North Norfolk (of the Boden brigade mentioned above) has the lion's share - there are two mini steam train things, seal visiting off Blakeney Point, windmills and beautiful long beaches.

I love Suffolk - have been to several places nr Southwold and Dunwich and Walberswick - fantastic sandy beaches at Walberswick,Southwold great for children...Dunwich wonderfully bleak and atmospheric..stayed at nice farm with converted barn, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts...nr Saxmundham. Nice cottages in Suffolk Secrets. Two yrs ago we stayed in a cottage in Snettisham,Norfolk - fabulous place.

I went to Kessingland in Suffolk (check out Africa Alive) and Banham Zoo, Diss in Norfolk, also Wells-next-the-Sea is lovely, sandy pine forest, fab beaches. Also Southwold was really nice.

let me know if you want any details of the farm cottage I mentioned (Saxmundham)

Mercy · 05/01/2008 19:25

We go to Suffolk and Norfolk a fair bit.

One of the best places is ime Wells-next-the Sea but it's fair old drive from Kent. There is a holiday complex there (am racking my brains trying to think of the name). There is loads to do and see.

I'll get back to you after dinner!

ArcticRoll · 05/01/2008 19:26

Agree with others.
Southwold and Walberswick are lovely and delightfully old fashioned.
Love the quirky pier at Southwold.

Ooooh yes we go to either Norfolk or Suffolk every year. Beautiful, stunning beaches, just fantastic. If only we could live there ..... Holkham is just gorgeous, as are most beaches on the north norfolk coast. Southwold in suffolk is beautiful too with a lovely pier with amusements. I love Dunwich too. Hope you enjoy it.

Troutpout · 05/01/2008 20:24

Oh god yes...north norfolk is absolutely beautiful

Beetrootoyourself · 05/01/2008 20:40
