Implications? what does it mean?

I have to answer a question for an assignment and it is "what are the implications for carers?"

I always thought "implications" meant "problems" but the way the course advises you to answer the question it seems to mean "suggestions" rather than problems??? as in "what are the suggestions for carers?"

Please help me, this has to be in by wednesday and I feel so thick not even knowing what a word means.

What effect would this have on the way the carers worked or what 'impact' would this have on their practice?

What does it imply for/require from the carers?
You could list both advantages and problems/difficulties.
How would things have to change to incorporate whatever it is you are being asked about?
