how do you bath a 5 1/2 month old who cant sit unaided?

has grown out of his baby bath and bath insert

bought bath seat with curved back but it presses against his special parts

how do you bath a baby that can nearly sit?

and it all went wrong!

You just hold him/support him with one hand and wash with the other hand - you'll soon get used to it, or take him into the bath with you.

Bumbly, sorry you're feeling low. Here is something that will cheer you up.

Do you have a bath yourself? If so, fill your bath at baby temperature with optional baby bubble bath. Undress baby and put him on towels on the floor at the side of the bath.

Undress yourself, get in the bath. Pick up naked baby and wash him while you're holding him. He will splash around and love it! When done, put him back on towels, get out yourself, dry him off then dry yourself off.

Are you bfing at all? I can't recall! My ds loves to bf in the bath with me.
