What (if anything) does it represent about his sexuality when a man in his early 30s born in the UK into a middle class leftwing family who fancies women has a small stud in his right ear?

OP posts:
vict17 · 18/11/2004 15:39

er.... nothing?

zephyrcat · 18/11/2004 15:39

these days i dont think it means anything!!

motherinferior · 18/11/2004 15:40

He wants you to think he is Caring and in touch with his Sensitive Side and Feminist Issues, I reckon.

It does not, I'm afraid, signal 'red hot completely fabulous stud in bed'.

fairyfly · 18/11/2004 15:41

obviously has issues and probably cross dresses

Chandra · 18/11/2004 15:41

I really don't know as I am not from England but according to one gay friends, that's the way they identify each other. Or at least that what he told me when I stupidly was over impressed by somebody who was wearing one. He was soooo cute that I did not even notice the stud...

winnie1 · 18/11/2004 15:41

MI

Easy · 18/11/2004 15:41

Nothing about sexuality I don't think.

Just that he's a bit of a prat (and common)

Slinks off snobbishly

StellaArtois · 18/11/2004 15:42

my husband has one dont know what ear it is in though

Caligula · 18/11/2004 15:42

He was too heavily influenced by the swooning over David Essex he saw in childhood and has become stuck in a rut?

DillyDally · 18/11/2004 15:42

I think the old myth that if they wear it in one ear they are straight and if it is the other they are gay is no longer applicabale...Look at ole trousersnake who has both ears pierced.
Am not a big fan of bloke bling.

PicadillyCircus · 18/11/2004 15:42

Don't know -I never did understand what different piercings were "meant" to mean

marialuisa · 18/11/2004 15:43

nothing-but if DH had still been sporting his earrings when i met him, he wouldn't have got anywhere!

Caligula · 18/11/2004 15:43

Ooh yes Easy, frightfully common, I'm afraid.

Probably has a tattoo as well [Margo Leadbetter smiley]

fairyfly · 18/11/2004 15:44

Does NOT mean he is common!!!!!!!!

vict17 · 18/11/2004 15:44

my bil has one, dont know which ear though, and he's definitely not gay

Easy · 18/11/2004 15:44

Ah,

I thought I was going to get slated for my comment

Caligula · 18/11/2004 15:45

The night is young! There's still time!

Easy · 18/11/2004 15:45

2 say it's common, 1 says not.

Anymore?

zephyrcat · 18/11/2004 15:46

Thats me in trouble then!! dp had an earring when i met him (doesnt now) and he has a tattoo - what was i thinking to get with such a vile commoner!?!? pmsl!! It used to be when i was at school that a stud in the left ear was cool and the right ear was gay (or the other way round?!) Also that if men wore a ring on their little finger they were gay

fairyfly · 18/11/2004 15:48

2 was more popular for boys in scotland i found, when my x was growing up he had two, but he is common and a twat

StellaArtois · 18/11/2004 15:52

well my husband is a bit of common rough and he likes kinky sex

Nikkichik · 18/11/2004 15:58

OK answer me this one please. What does it mean when dh's Dad - a grandfather of 70 (of age not 70 grandchildren! - he's got 6 grandchildren, 2 step grand children and 1 baby great step-grandaughter!) suddenly goes and gets an ear pierced! I was actually the only one that noticed but can't quite work out why he saw the need!! Ah well, each to his own I say but dh's is horrified!!!

Caligula · 18/11/2004 16:00

He wants to wind up his children! Good for him! Hope he buys a motorbike next!

Kayleigh · 18/11/2004 16:07

My dh had an ear pierced when I met him, but I can't remember which one. He took it out the first time I took him to meet my mum (bless!) and he's never put it back.

Nikkichik · 18/11/2004 16:13

I wouldn't put it past him Caligula, although I think he had that when he was younger. They did just buy a caravan - but I don't think that counts as wind-up material really does it!
