DH and I have travelled a lot. We have two very young children (DS is 2, DS2 is 4 months). Since having our children, we have really only holidayed in the Canaries (Dubai and Portugal too but these were during the times that Spain weren't allowing British folk due to restrictions).
I've always hated the British winter but knuckled down and got through it. Now with my children, I'm finding it utterly impossible. Whenever we visit lanzarote, we are now there for a month at a time and it still doesn't feel long enough. We are in a position to buy abroad but it's now gone beyond that for us both - we want to live there.
It's the hardest decision in the world given that we are fundamentally taking our children away from everything they know. But DS is infinitely happier abroad. We all are. I am a primary school teacher and I'm just not sure if the education is good enough in Lanzarote/Spain in general?
I guess I'm just looking for general advice/tips/ pros and cons. It's obviously a major life decision but I feel that hearing from others who have made the move would be of utmost benefit!
