In a similar vein to the other song threads, which songs send shivers down your spine?

The opening bars to Do They Know it's Christmas does it every time to me - I can feel my scalp tingling just thinking of it! I Beleive in Father Christmas by Greg Lake is another one and, more recently and less Christmasssy, American Pie by Madonna, played really loudly on a pefectly balanced car stereo.

Agree with 'I belive in Father Christmas' - even thinking of it brings me up in goosebumps. Also Nilsson's 'Without you'. I'm sure there must be plenty of others once I've thought about it.

Phil Collins "Against All Odds". I don't have any personal attachment to the song but the sadness and desperation really gets to me each time I hear it.

'The Sweetest Feeling'- Jackie Wilson

The intro to 'He Ain't Heavy...' by the Hollies always makes my spine tingle, also the intro (if you can call it that to 'A Hard Days Night@ by the Beatles. I just love that CLANG!!!!

Soupdragon - Do They Know It's Christmas does thst to me too - maybe cos I was a teenager whenit came out. And the opening instrumental to 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' by U2 - theres something about the guitar and the song that makes me shivvvvvver.

I have a Dream (Abba), then some song by Sad Cafe I used to love and can't remember the name, something about 'Saw the lamplight in your window' or something, Everyday Hurts I think it was called. Also, Don't Let the Sun Go Down and agree with Do They Know it's Christmas. Actually Last Christmas does if for me too !

Bruce Springsteen "Jungleland"

I know there are lots more, but that one brings back such memories!

There's a theme song is an obscure film called Bagdad Cafe which is the most haunting I've ever heard.

Getting Christmassy again and a bit of a religious one here - 'Oh Holy Night' - I can never sing this in a carol service because I just get a lump in my throat every time, especially when it gets to 'fall on your knees ...'. Fantastic.
