opened the back of the camera.........

I've got a camera that loads the film automatically when you shut the door. I just pressed the wrong button and opened the door by accident - the film wasnt exposed to the light but when i shut it it wound the film on a bit and went back to '1' on the display. Can i carry on as if nothing happened and ignore the number or should i just rewind it and start a new film? (the film is about half way thru)

I've done this - I think you may get overlay on the ones you've taken - also last time I did it (yes more than once!) it just stopped working halfway through the film but I did get some pictures back.

Don't take the risk - rewind and start a new film. You may find some of the pictures don't come out properly (would have thought some would have been exposed to the light if only slightly?)
