As it says, how can we recycle metal lids? It's getting my back up that I can't work out what to do with them Thanks in advance if anyone knows how we can do this.

In the metal recycling?

I don’t now how it works were you live, but we have communal glass and metal bins in town with just take them to. Some places have collections from home I imagine.

I put the metal lids with the cans, and the glass bits with glass bottles

We have mixed recycling here are they specifically say you can put the metal lids in with everything else. Like so much with recycling it depends where you live.

The bottle banks in my area have notices on to say you can put the metal lids in with the jars - I thought it was the same everywhere

In my area, the kerbside recycling doesn't include metal lids, but I wash them, store them in a bag and take them to the tip from time to time. There is a "scrap metal" skip at the tip, so I put them in there.

Thanks everyone!

@WaltzingToWalsingham, thanks yes I think I need to look for a scrap metal place at the tip.

Pretty sure that the kerbside recycling bins are not meant to include the metal lids but I think I'll double-check now as I don't really know why I've always thought that.

Our rubbish sorting place has (had?) a big magnet which removed metal from the rubbish. This may have happened after the rest was incinerated, I'm a bit hazy on the details, but I always assume my lids will be picked up by this...
