Band 1 homelessness list.

Hi everyone, so i’m on band 1 homeless list and have been from 8th December. I’m living at my parents house and i have a now 1 year old. I’m not allowed to choose a area as on band 1 homeless list but it will be a 2 bed house in my area. I asked my housing officer for a timeframe weeks months? she said it’s likely to be weeks but i’m now a month later and no house. Has anyone been in this situation and roughly how long do you reckon i will be waiting? I thought as i’m on band 1 it would be asap but i’m now a month gone past and still here. Thankyou!!

they said as soon as something comes suitable i’ll be offered it and i’m at the top of the list but how long could this take?

Where about in the country are you? Do you know how many people are above you? You might be too priority but other people will be too

It might have gone more slowly because of Christmas and New Years, there have not been as many working days in this month period and also a lot of people take leave at that time of year. Also a lot of people done want to move actually on Christmas and in winter generally so it can be slower in the winter and especially around Christmas. Hopefully it will pick up and you will get housed soon.

With councils generally I take 'weeks' to mean anything up to about 10-12 weeks and anything more than that months, they tend to move quite slowly and then House people all of a sudden

What I mean is it seems to take forever and then when something does come up you move quick

So i’m on band 1 which is top priority, i don’t know where on the list i am just that. I’m in midlands also. It’s now been over a month, i’m trying to bear and grin it but very frustrating when i’ve been waiting over a year , my daughter is 1 and very crowded in my parents.

Phone them. Or if really desperate tell them you have been asked to leave and they will put you in temporary accommodation. Could be a B and B, but may be quicker
