Dh is writing his best man speech for his brother's wedding and, in the course of his research, found some quotes on children which he left on my desktop. Thought I would share them with you:

Boy :noun: a noise with dirt on it. ~Not Your Average Dictionary

Anyone who thinks the art of conversation is dead ought to tell a child to go to bed. ~Robert Gallagher

Any kid will run any errand for you if you ask at bedtime. ~Red Skelton

There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million. ~Walt Streightiff

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

The quickest way for a parent to get a child's attention is to sit down and look comfortable. ~Lane Olinghouse

The one thing children wear out faster than shoes is parents. ~John J. Plomp

And the names are almost as good as the quotes, moo! John J Plomp? Walt Streightiff? Lane Olinghouse? Americans get all the best names!

think I might be a bit hormonal but the Elizabeth Stone quote nearly made me cry!
I'll cry at anything though, found myself crying at an advert the other day.

Plomp is a particulaly excellent name isn't it?

I know beansmum - it's so true, though.

love the Ollinghouse one... oh so true!

what I noticed with having small kids... they're very much like cats, well my old cat anyhow... sit down to read a mag and cat would come sit on it!

My personal favourite: "There never was a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him asleep." - R W Emerson.
