Pilates...does anyone do it?

Hiya,
Looking at going to pilates at the local leisure centre, hoping to strengthen the core muscles (stemming from SPD, no surgery needed so must be muscles and ligaments causing the constant pain!)

What is it like? Is it suitable? What do you wear, or take with you? Any good dvds that can help me at home?

Loads of questions, I know!

Going to be off line until later tonight, RL is going to be busy for the next couple of hours (dc tea, book, bed etc)

Thanks

I do!

Wear loose comfy clothing, like you'd wear to a yoga class or something, but our teacher says not too loose or she can't see if we're doing the moves correctly.

I like it, it has really helped my poor knackered back (I had SPD too and 3 sections) and my abs are so much stronger.

I had a DVD but found it really boring (and fell asleep on the floor) and much prefer a class. That way you also know if you're doing it right as some of the moves are very subtle.
