Did you really NEED it?

Anyone manage without?

Coby better idea a strong bungee cord and bungee eldest to the hood handles whislt making them sit on the hood

shoshaliteupthetree · 18/12/2007 21:46

easier than dragging them by handcuffs when they dont want to walk th eway you do

CarGirl · 18/12/2007 21:48

I too like the handcuff idea - I could handcuff dd4 to her buggy..............

coby · 18/12/2007 21:50

shoshaliteupthetree - FANTASTIC IDEA - I have been know to 'delicately place' DD1 across the hood of my single pushchair when she has had a tantrum in the middle of the road. From now on I shall carry a bungee cord and if anyone questions me about it I shall tell them you told me to!

Astrophes double is much more like the marco sky I looked at a while ago, but it didn't have the funky pull out board.

coby · 18/12/2007 21:53

You could get those pink fluffy handcuffs you get in crappy sex shops (not that I've ever set foot in one myself of course, I've just heard about them) - no discerning little girl would complain at those surely?????

shoshaliteupthetree · 18/12/2007 22:01

On a serious note Coby, have found that the seat2go, can be used with it without breaking your shins, (attach reins to the uprights of the marcosky and they act like a hrnes while sat on th eseat2go

All v interesting. I will have 21 months or so between mine next May. I have no sense of space or direction and am lethal with a buggy, especially of any size ... Once I'd got into using a wrap I barely used a buggy with ds1 till he was about 9 months or older. Can just about manage with a Zapp now as it's light and manoeuvrable - am hoping to wear baby and Zapp ds1 - but interesting to see v. few people here saying they could have managed without a double or toddler seat - guess I will wait and see how we manage and keep an open mind!

wethreekingsofORINOCOare · 18/12/2007 22:03

No! not the seat 2 go - unless you prefer your shins black and blue, and you've got arms like a gorilla

coby · 18/12/2007 22:04

I've got a mothercare pheonix and some sort of strange contraption in the loft that I can attach to it that I bought a while ago. I'm going to do some experimenting - being a bit of a shorty I need something that will give DD1 some space and still allow me to reach the handlebars and see over the top of the hood.

shoshaliteupthetree · 18/12/2007 22:05

Its great on the Marco sky cos you can reach easliy (IM 5''2) and can the Mrco is so tall it fits perfect

Spoo · 18/12/2007 22:08

15 month age gap so def did. But i think it depends how much you walk. I use mine for walking into to town (about a mile away) and when I am on my own. You need to also think about what you would do if DC1 is kicking off. It is great to be able to strap in and bolt when you need too. I also found that if we take out the single buggy they argue about who sits in it and we end up carrying the other child.

coby · 18/12/2007 22:09

I'm 5'2 as well. Will have to check this one out on my pheonix methinks.

TheHollyhobbieAndTheIvy · 18/12/2007 22:10

three little words:

Phil & Ted's

(or, two words and a punctuation mark, really)

Spoo · 18/12/2007 22:10

P.S. i have a 360 nipper and think it is great and well worth the money.

Astrophe · 19/12/2007 10:23

thanks cargirl for the free promo - no takers so far though

FoghornLeghorn · 19/12/2007 10:26

I had a 2yr 4 month gap between DD1 and DD2 and didn't use a double buggy, DD1 managed really well.
I am now pregnant again and will have a 21 month gap between DD2 and DC3 so will defo need a double I think.
I think they all look awful though

eidsvold · 19/12/2007 10:28

Astrophe - the only prob I had was when I put the toddler seat on a different three wheeler that was clearly not made for it - pram became much harder to wheel and seemed easy to tip - not that it did. The one that is made for the toddler seat is a very light pram - helps with steering when you have a toddler on board and has a wider wheel base which is a pain at some checkouts BUT again makes it very very stable.

Astrophe · 19/12/2007 10:36

what make is it? a mate has the really wide one (can't remember the name though...maybe starts with r?), she said its a pain in super markets, but other than that she loves it.

I would never have considered putting the seat on another buggy - didn't realise they would be compatible at all (the Bertini seat I have definantly only fits on the Bertini with a special attachment thingy)

eidsvold · 19/12/2007 21:37

mine is childcare brand

mrsshackleton · 20/12/2007 11:49

2 1/4 years between mine. If you walk a lot you really need a double, probably a Phil& Ted's as - as others have said - there are times when you are in a hurry/in the supermarket and you need them both strapped in and ready to go, go, go!
Having said that dd2 HATED the cocoon thing on the p and t and screamed the place down every time she was put in it, huge relief when at 4 months she could sit up in it. Also, and a lot of people have this problem it keeps getting punctures, which is a pain in the butt. During first puncture I went out and bought a buggy board for the old Maclaren and now if we're just going down the road to the playground or whatever I use that combo. I hoped, like you, that dd1 would walk but they tend to regress when dc2 arrives and get jealous of little baby all cosy in the buggy, at least my little devil did! It all has cost me far, far more money than I like to think but in the end needed both options. Grrr

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 20/12/2007 21:11

do people recommend p and t then?

has mumsnet got a reveiw of it?
