We are thinking about moving to Singapore. Wondering if any MN's have lived there or are living there? Have 2 dd's 5&6 and am interested in any info about the international schools, preferably American. Any information or advice would be just great. Thank you!

Hi Pilotswife, I live in Dubai and when we were moving here I found the website www.expatmum.com very useful. It is based mainly on the middle east but there is a section for Asia, you could try posting on their chatboard and somebody maybe able to help you.

For what it's worth my ds (3) loves living here and he settled in really well and there are plenty of UK & USA schools here.

My stepbrother and his wife live in Singapore. Don't know a lot of details but have seen a video and it all looks very beautiful. One thing I do know is that they originally said they would come back to Britain when their eldest son got to school age but he is 8 and they are still there. The International school he is at is of a very high standard and the class sizes are small so when it came to it there was no reason to come back.

Sorry, not terribly useful as I don't know the name of the school or anything, just thought I'd tell you a 'success story'!

A friend of mine was in Singapore for 18mths. Her dd went to school there and found it more competitive than in the UK. But I think that's a tendency in all international schools in Asia - my dd's were at school in Indonesia and it was the same there.
