I currently live with my parents but im trying to find a place to live. I have applied for council/housing association but have some savings, I don't want this to affect my application or get me rejected.
I only work 8 hours and will have to claim maternity allowance, I can't afford to privately rent a place, so that choice is out the window.
Does anybody know if there is a limit on savings when applying?

Op, it depends on yr local authority as to what your options will be as demand can be so high in places you will wait years.

You will be asked about your finances as if you have money you are expected to use it to house yourself. So why don’t you?

Council can help with private renting (& they offer this as standard), rents are covered by local housing allowance.

You will be asked about your working, income, housing history etc.
If you are only working 8 hrs are you on benefits already?

What area are u in? That will dictate a lot.
If single with no children then you can be offered room in shared flat, bedsit, 1 bed. Doesn’t have to be nearby.
Council housing is really for those who are not able to get housing themselves and it sounds like you could (you have finances and are currently housed), I’m not sure how successful you will be but I’m in London so no chance if it here…
