MRI brain scan (bit of a vain!) query

Bit of a weird question and wasn’t sure whereabouts to post it on Mumsnet!

I’m having an brain MRI scan next week and I’ll be going there straight from work before returning to work after so I’ll be wearing my usual makeup. The form I’ve been given to sign mentions not wearing any makeup and now I’ve googled it I’ve read this is because it can contain metals and cause burning?

My friend had one done earlier this year and is certain she wore her usual makeup (foundation, eyeliner, mascara etc.) Has anyone else had one and if so were you able to wear makeup or did you have to remove it?

Obviously I can remove it and reapply before going back to work but would rather not have to if pos.

Thanks!

I don't think that's vain. Putting on make up is my number reason gripe about going into the office (though I prefer the office to WFH overall).

It would be a real pain to have to do your make up twice in one day!

I had a full face on. No problems x

I have had brain MRIs every year for the last decade and have not worn make up to any of them but I do go home straight afterwards. To me, I follow the guidance including not wearing anything metal so I don't have problems or delays at the hospital. You could always redo your makeup in the toilets at the hospital or car afterwards.

I had to take mascara off due to the metal particles often found in it.

I think it's just to cover themselves and so you are aware of the possibility of getting a burn.
They ask about tattoos too, and it's not like you can remove them just for the scan.

I think I would probably just remove it. Just to be on the safe side!

I never have taken make up off and have had a few.

I was asked to remove mine for my brain MRI. And asked to remove make up & hair ties, and anything that might have metal like bras for my full body one.
