Hi I'm new here
I had my gallbladder removed on the 19th of October, I've had washes and a bath with my water proof dressings on but got out quickly as water had got into my dressings, I have 4 incision the one on my belly button has a little stitch hanging out is that normal also when I wear a bra the one just under bleeds a little 😔

I'm just wondering how was everyone's bath/shower after there opp and do I take the plasters off yet I'm just so scared incase I open them or something gets stuck! Anxiety really bad too

Thank you In advance

Hi I had mine out about 3 weeks ago. I was given spare dressings and had to change them after 7 days and then remove completely after 14 days. I was also told only showers for the first two weeks. Belly button incision is a bit gross but others are OK. I have disposable stitches. I was given a number to call.if I had any questions after surgery , do you have something similar?

I had my gallbladder removed over a year ago now. I'm surprised you still have the dressings on - mine were off after about 11/12 days. If you're scared to do it yourself, make an appointment with your GP or community nurse and ask for assistance. Don't have any more baths - you don't want the wounds getting moist under the dressings.

They've been changed and cleaned around the wound with antiseptic wipes but haven't got them off fully as I'm worried about getting them stuck on my clothes or my son knocking them, when u showered was it okay?

I had mine out on 6th October

Had dressings fully off on the 15th

The pic is the day I had the dressings off

Assuming you are uk based and nhs treated stitches should be dissolvable and I was advised any concerns see GP
